Words cant actually do this justice. I cannot even begin to describe the atmostphere, the technology, the organisation, the athletes, the EVERYTHING.
Ok, so here are a few things to think about...
85000 people at opening ceremony
10 000 athletes in village
ALL you can eat at whatever time, and of WHATEVER you feel like
The eating hall is so big you cannot see to the other side
vending machines with ice cream, coke, water, juice ( no wonder Oscar put on 10 kg at his Olympics, 10 is actually not too bad)
Shops, promotions, post office, hair dressers, you NAME it
Amazing gym, pool, tennis court, running track, courts, etc just to play on
24 hour laundry for 10 000 people!
heat, humidity, air con, security EVERYWHERE!
Athletes training all over the place, boxing, running, cycling, swimming...
busses, bicycles, TV, press, media
Viewing rooms, physio rooms, Recording rooms... and the list goes on... AND that is all INSIDE the village
When I look out of my window I can see the other stadiums, hockey, volley ball, tennis etc etc. To the other side is the birds nest (a story in itself) the gymnastics stadium, the aquatics centre... The canoeing course is 50 min bus ride away, but is is perfect, so amazing, it has everything...
To put it simple words, PERFECTION! and in the words of Ryan Louw... AMAZING ZING ZING ZING ZING...
We've seen lots of "famous People" including Roger Federer (our neighbour) and my personal favourite, JACKIE CHANG!
OK, well I am sorry but i cant upload photos now, but will do so in the next day or so!
