Well it is finally here, race day. I woke up this morning and there was a definate 'buzz' in the air. It is a long wait until we race as we only race at 430 this afternoon, so we are trying to stay relaxed, watch athletics and play on our computers.
My mom and dad came to visit the village yesterday and my mom slipped on a plastic pathway area and broke her wrist... she was very brave and tried to persuade us that she was fine, but after lunch when her wrist was as big as her bicep we took her to the team doc. The team doctor sent her for xrays... Now, thankfully we are in the village and there is a mini clinic for athletes to have xrays etc. So we walked in there, and 45 min later we walked out of there with an xray, sonogram and a cast on moms wrist.
They were so friendly, professional and quick it was amazing. I shudder to think what would have happened if she had fallen off the pavement in Central Bejing, finding a doctor here would have been scarey!
Well I will send out a race report this evening...
I added more pics, look under image gallery, Nikki Mocke and then Olympics - pic name!
Thanks for the support and emails, it means a lot to me!
